Take a Walk

Well it was arguably one of the most beautiful weekends Northern Virginia has had in a while and I just had to get out and do something other than sit on the computer. So as usual, I completely overdid it and walked the perimeter of Burke Lake again (4.7 miles) followed by the entire loop at Huntley Meadows (2.5 miles).

For those of you who grew up here in NoVA and have been to Huntley Meadows before, you might find the following comparison a little alarming. Compare this picture taken last year on 11/4/06:

Needless to say, I don't think we've gotten enough rain this year. Looks like there will be no good pictures of fall foliage from Northern Virginia this year :(
