Eureka!

That's right. It's not a figment of your imagination. I am online...AFTER work.

And no one seems to care.

Nice.

That's okay - I've come to grips with the fact that I'm pretty sure I only have two friends left in the entire world. One is halfway across the country. If the other didn't live just 5 minutes away, I'd probably be a hermit right now.

Oops, I miscounted. There's three. Can't forget the baby cat!

Some prayers ARE answered...or some posts...

Whoa - it seems as if someone heard me! No sooner did I post the last...post...and then I get an email from my boss saying that everyone will be leaving early for a "bowling event" and while they could not include me because of my contractor status, I am to feel free to take off early and count it as a full day! My boss ROCKS!!!

Make it Stop!!!

Can I please just have one day on a weekend to do NOTHING? Another busy weekend ahead including: house cleaning, visit with the bro and his new wife and family, brunch with my favorite guy from Miami amongst other stuff.

Also countdown number 2: 3 1/2 days until I'm back ONLINE at HOME!!!

The Weekend

And I thought my busy weekends were over. HA!

Saturday, I spent about 10 hours helping Froggy babysit 6 of the most well-behaved children I have ever had the pleasure to be around. Yes, I definitely want my own.

Sunday, sickness creeping back into my head I decided to take it easy, and also keep an eye on my baby because he had yarfed the night before for the first time since I adopted him (for those of you keeping count, that's almost 8 months), and obviously I went a little overboard babying him after that. Then, Meegs and Froggy convinced me (they didn't have to try too hard) to go see Elizabethtown. For Orlando fans who just like gazing at him for 2 hours, it's a must-see. For the movie itself, I give it a solid B. Not stupendous, but not as bad as most of the critics are making it out to be.

SCREW VERIZON!!!

Yeah, that's right. I said it.

After nearly 3 WEEKS of no internet access, and no help in sight, I've decided to get rid of them permanently and switch everything over to Cox. Cable, phone and internet. Oh, yeah...

I will soon have a new email address, but am keeping the same home phone. Install is tentatively set for 10/29 so I'll let y'all know what the new address is.

That's right. I said y'all.

Wedded Bliss

The wedding was wonderful - went off with not one single problem! I think it was truly a great sign that the weather cleared up to perfection just in time. I've never seen my brother so happy in my entire life; it was just an absolutely beautiful thing to see. Once my computer at home is back up and running (at least one of them) I'll post some pictures. So now I have had the bridesmaid experience, and although it was loads of fun (if a bit scary - especially since I was the first one to walk!) I must say, I think I'd rather be the bride ;-)

My heartfelt thanks go out to Froggy for the advice on how to do my hair, for being the one friend who cared enough to make the day easier for me (and to find out if everything went okay), and for truly being the best friend a girl could ever ask for. When it's my turn to get married I hope you'll be there right by my side; I don't think it will be possible to do it without you!

Thanks to Nemo, there was no sleeping in on Sunday, and on top of that, I am now sick - either with your run-of-the-mill cold, or possibly strep. But I must say watching the Orlando-fest known as Kingdom of Heaven helped me feel a little better last night ;-) Well, that and the all-important phone number exchange with Colorado... Is it too soon to start planning my own wedding?

Countdown: 1 Day

Can't believe it's TOMORROW. I am so happy for my bro for finding the love of his life, and slightly worried that now that my two older siblings are married, the attention will shift to me...

But you can't say I'm not working on it! Next stop: Colorado....

Countdown: 2 days

Holy crap it's Thursday! The wedding is only 2 days away and I'm really hoping the rain clears up before 3pm on Saturday...and it would be nice if it was just a tad warmer - I think we're going to be outside...strapless gowns do not make for a lot of warmth.

And in case anyone is wondering about MY social life...

The GOOD news is that even though he is allergic to cats, he assured me that if things continued to go well, and we really did end up together that he would NEVER make me get rid of Nemo, and that "we would make it work. No worries." I know I shouldn't let myself get carried away with the "might happens" and the "what ifs" because I don't want to be horribly disappointed if nothing comes of this; but on the other hand, he seems like SUCH a perfect person, and dangit, I'm not giving up! If it's meant to be, I will fight for it!

Complete 180

Ha! Oh me of little faith, communication was forthcoming, just a day or so later.

I'm just literally giddy. Heart about to burst, so excited - this could be the coolest thing to happen to me like....ever! Nice to know that there ARE good men out there, and one of them just might be meant for me.

Okay, so the 'burying myself in work' thing is not working. The rain is making it worse.

Thursday, October 06, 2005

Hey, wait a minute...

I just realized more time had passed than I originally thought...should I be concerned that it has been over a week with no communication?

Knew it was too good to be true. Now I shall have to bury myself in work so I don't think about it.

Time passes...

The past few days in review:
  • So Dr. Nick thinks it's not a bad idea to move to Chicago, if it's what makes me happy.
  • Same goes for Colorado.... ;-D
  • Froggy pointed out that I had made myself a new motto without realizing it - "I'm gonna make it happen."
  • Joshua's b-day party in Winchester was great; I can't believe he's growing up so fast! 2 years old already... As soon as I get my computer up and running again, I'll have to upload some pictures.
  • Had dinner for Amanda's birthday last night and I met the real-life Boomhauser. Pretty funny.
  • Meegs is one step closer to meeting Jeremy Piven, and by default, John Cusack...jealous, jealous, jealous!!!!!!
