And Now, the Waiting Game.

I think it went well. We'll find out on Wednesday.

Field Trips and Anecdotes

Sunday, me and Froggy spent most of the afternoon at the Air & Space Museum out in Dulles. I think she was laughing at me most of the time because I was like a kid in a candy shop - to be able to stand 2 feet from a real space shuttle was almost more than I could handle, but what a beautiful sight...

Then Sunday night, it's pouring outside - I finally get around to going to bed around 11pm. At 11:45ish, I hear this plaintive meow coming from the living room area. Nemo doesn't normally meow unless I'm in the process of feeding him, or just getting home from work. So I was understandably concerned. I go to the living room, and he's sitting in front of the patio door staring outside. Nothing out of the ordinary. Until I get closer and realize the meow isn't coming from HIM, it's coming from outside.

???

I'm looking outside and I can't see anything. I go back to bed. The meowing continues, louder and more insistent, and now Nemo is answering back. For cryin' out loud, can't a girl sleep? Can't you two save your philosophical discussion about tuna vs. salmon for DAYLIGHT hours?!?!? I go back to the living room, and actually have the brain power this time to turn the patio light on - and lo and behold, the cutest little jet black stray cat with the greenest eyes, just huddling in the driest spot he could find under the upstairs neighbors' balcony, meowing at my baby. I wanted to bring him in so bad, but stray = possible fleas, disease, etc. and of course I can't risk putting my own baby in danger. So I tried closing the blinds so Nemo couldn't see him to see if that would stop the caterwauling. Nope, just started hearing ripping sounds coming from the blinds being shredded. FINE - I'll open them again. At this point the stray is gone, and all is quiet again. Unfortunately, it cut an hour out of my sleep time, but what are you gonna do?

Ah, the joys of being a pet owner...

Road Rage

I flicked someone off on 66 today on my way to work, and it was only a few seconds later I realized I was listening to the Godspell soundtrack.

There's something not right about that.

I just want to say that today is just an absolute confusing stressful mess.

The First Post of 2006

Keeping it brief:

Found out that Sprint Nextel does not employ contractors for more than a year, so if I'm not hired by May 15, I shall be looking for other employment. However, the good news is I'm to start training under one of the Senior Market Analysts to take over for her as she's moving to a new position, and my manager told me it was his goal to get me hired before May. I was also invited to the monthly staff meeting as if I'd already joined the team - good sign.

The 'Skins are in the playoffs - how about the game on Saturday?!?! Interception in the last 2 minutes!!! Have you ever seen Arrington look so happy?

Alright, that's all I have time for - more later!
