In summary:
Monday - missed our flight out in the morning. No, I'm not kidding. Apparently everyone in DC is an absolute moron and they decided to fly out on Monday morning for Spring Break, completely wasting the two days they COULD have added to their vacation by flying out on Saturday. But no, let's ALL fly out on Monday morning and ruin Danni's first day as a Sprint employee. But we eventually made it to KC around 6:30pm - now we're famous on the Sprint campus as "the ones who missed their flight." NOT an auspicious start to the week.
Tuesday - Training, training, training; while being the middleman between my two coworkers who do NOT get along well.
Wednesday - More training - and the revelation that I am going to be THE go-to person for everything RadioShack. I should have held out for a bigger salary... Learned that my boss may change in a few weeks.
Thursday - More training - tempers between the two coworkers continue to rise...
Friday - Heart-to-heart with the woman who is training me, learned a lot of the background and what's REALLY going on behind the scenes. Leave early to catch our flight home; end up getting to the airport in KC around 3pm, the plane is late coming in from Chicago, so we don't end up leaving until 6:30. A couple hours later, I start to think that the flight is taking longer than I thought it would...about that time there's an announcement that we're about to land in Louisville, Kentucky.
WTF?!?!?!?!!!!??????????Turns out we had been circling Dulles for at least half an hour because of bad weather, and thus ran out of fuel and supposedly Kentucky was the closest airport we could refuel at.
For those of you who live in DC, join me in saying,
"WHAT???"A) DC...Kentucky...not so close.
B) It wasn't even raining.
The pilot must have been on crack. Or the people in the tower. Or both. So we refuel in Kentucky and fly back to DC. I swear I thought I was going to die. It was the most turbulent, terrifying flight I have ever been on in my life. The kind where you start thinking about the fact that your little brother will inherit your XBox, mom and dad will inherit another cat, they'll make a lot of money by selling my condo, will anyone show up for my funeral? Was almost going to kiss the floor of the airport terminal when we finally landed, and wanted to vow never to fly again, but then realized I have to fly back out in a day and a half. Then I got to learn how to catch the shuttle bus to the parking lots to get to my car, ended up wandering around the parking lot at midnight looking for my car and made it out with less than 10 minutes to spare (when you pay for your parking in the terminal, it gives you an hour to leave; otherwise, you rack up more charges). Got home around a quarter to 1am. Collapsed.
Saturday - woke up late (thankfully) and watched 4 episodes of 24, before biting the bullet and going into the office around 5pm. Left at 10:30pm. Watched a few more episodes of 24. Started to get depressed about having to fly back out tomorrow. Decided to check my mail and update my blog.
Stay tuned for the next episode of "Danni's Adventures in Kansas City!"
