So Close.....Yet so far away.....

Okay - is it wrong to be kinda irritated that I'm only .4 pounds away from losing 20? I gotta tell ya though, it's great when you get to this point, because this is when people start noticing!

Nogfest was excellent - although it was kind of funny that the party ended up splitting into GMU alumni in one room, Maggie's high school friends in the other - I kind of ended up in the kitchen in the middle....in limbo....I actually spent more time with the Maggie's high school friends - closer to the same age group.

For some reason, I ended up in bed almost all day yesterday, which is kind of strange because I didn't drink anything at Nogfest - catching up on sleep, I guess.

I can't believe Christmas is only 6 days away.

Can't think of a catchy title for this post...probably because there's nothing interesting in it.

I just realized that it had been a week since I posted and should probably write something. But what to write when there's nothing going on?

Christmas is only a week away - did you ever notice that when you were a kid, Christmas seemed to take FOREVER to come, but as you get older, it's over and done before you even realize it's there?

It is just WAY too cold outside - I made the mistake of wearing a thin sweater to work yesterday and almost froze to death, while being tortured by the fact that the Eagle and the Rat were crowding my space ALL MORNING.

I've decided that as usual, Matt was right, and I'm going to have to find somewhere to go during my lunch breaks that ISN'T my desk. Today, if there's no appointments, I'm going to hang out in the showroom and start reading up on my new hobby.

Post-Party Depression

So the Christmas party was pretty good. Took us over an hour and a half to get from Centreville to DC, though, because unbeknownst to us, it was also the night of the Lighting of the National Christmas Tree. Grrrrrr.....

And even though Matt went, it turns out that his exam WAS for Friday morning, not Thursday, but he was such a trooper and went out anyway. I hope he got at least a couple hours of sleep last night as opposed to the "none" he was counting on, trying to get his final paper done as well as study for the final. I haven't heard from him yet today...I'm not going to disturb him though, because if he's home, I'm sure he's sleeping...

Unfortunately, I didn't get as many pictures as I wanted, and I obviously don't have any of myself so I'm waiting to see if Paulette or Crystal got any good pics...if I find any, I'll post them up. But all in all it was a pretty good time - food was great, band was great, almost everyone looked fabulous, there was no Joe speech, and we got to see Norman and Renee dance all night. They're so cute!

Tomorrow we shall see if the excessive drinking has ruined my WW loss this week - keep your fingers crossed that I still managed to lose something this week...

Antici.......pation

I see I haven't updated for a while. Starting to look like Maggie's blog.....(j/k!!)

The latest weigh-in has me at down a total of 16 pounds now...moving along well.

Believe it or not, the powers-that-be at work actually came through and gave me a bonus check, which I took to be a "please please please don't quit" plea. It was pretty generous of them, though - I guess I'll end up hanging around for a little while longer. Unless something better comes along.

And tonight is the Christmas party. The best part about it is that I get to leave the office at 2pm to go home and get ready. You gotta love half days.

When I have time, I'll have to exlain the dream I had the other night - it was like watching a complete movie, which was pretty cool. Featuring Harry Belafonte, the cast of CSI, and a trip to Jamaica....

I can see you shiver with antici...........pation
