Waiting, and Seeing

Okay so the paperwork has been signed, notarized, and dropped at the FedEx drop site. Now we wait...

And see...a big 'ol crack in my windshield. ARGH! I swear, just when one thing gets taken care of, a new problem takes its place. I run to the grocery store this morning, come home, and my car is in one piece. 6 hours later, I leave to drop by mom & dad's house for dinner, and there's an 8 inch crack in my windshield. Was it an act of nature? Did a rock fall out of the sky? Or was it the @#!%^@#$!#^%$!% demons-slash-monsters-slash-horde of the most ill-mannered psycho kids that happen to live in my neighborhood? What sucks is I'll never know. What we will hope for is that my insurance company will cover the repair/replacement and waive the deductable like they claim they will in the commercials...

It's September already???

So in case anyone was wondering:

I'm refinancing my home - no more cc debt, and paying less / month for mortgage - can't beat that!

I haven't heard anything lately about being sent back to Kansas City.

My sister's renovation has been put on hold temporarily.

Work continues to be the sole purpose of my life at the moment, although it's looking up: one of the Directors, only 4 levels below the CFO of the company, nominated me (and it was approved) for an Excellence award for all the work I've been putting in lately on a specific project - cash bonus - nice! AND my previous manager literally begged me yesterday to come back to her team which would mean either a) going back to my previous job - not a bad idea - I kicked butt doing that, or b) applying and probably getting a Supervisor level position - scary as hell. So do I move around again, or do I stay where I am where they obviously want me to stay as well?

Oh yeah, and my office moved. That was interesting, to say the least. When I say 'interesting' read "NIGHTMARE." I no longer have my cushy office and have been introduced to "cube life." Yes, I live on a cube farm now. I haven't gotten used to it yet. But I will say: headphones are probably one of the most important inventions of all time.

Until next time...

As Meegs says, "whoa..." Homestar Runner has now been in existence for 10 years.
