Merry Christmas!

Everything seemed to go relatively well. Everyone was at mom & dad's on Saturday for early Christmas due to in-laws and work schedules, so we did most of the present opening then.

Back in August / September when I thought I wouldn't have any money for Christmas presents this year, I decided to start my own calendar making tradition like Froggy's family (can't remember which sister) does every year, thinking that I could somehow find $60 to make one for each family. Then I refinanced and really did have money for Christmas presents, and was thinking of nixing the calendar thing but decided to finish it anyway, and the response was amazing. So hopefully I'm not completely out of my gourd for trying to do this photography thing because everyone was just going gaga over them, although I do have to remember that they're family, and even if it's crap they're supposed to say it's great.

Then I trekked back on Christmas morning (because I'm still the only loser in my family with no family of my own) to have real Christmas with mom and dad and little bro. Then left before lunch to finish off the day snuggling with my baby cat on the couch watching my new DVDs while my color changing Christmas tree candles burned on my new dining room table (the closest I've gotten to having a tree in my house).

Now a whole work-free week to look forward to! Going to see Eragon with dad & little bro tomorrow, then back to studying for photography and getting out of the house for a change.

P.S. Zuke and Chimera are in Germany visiting Chimera's little sis, but they said Merry Christmas to everyone!

Chapter Closed

Okay, this is everyone's big chance to have one last laugh about the time it took me to fully recover from the flood of '04. The dishwasher, which had been posing as a dining room table the last two years, has finally been installed. I set it to run a little while ago for the first time, and I find myself running to the kitchen every 2 minutes to make sure there's no water on the floor. Soooooo paranoid... I don't think Nemo likes it, either. But I guess I can't blame him as he's never been around a working dishwasher before...

I realized also that now I have no 'table' to put stuff on anymore. It looks so...empty...by the wall there in the living room. So I went out and bought a dining room table tonight. Just think - after only 6 years - my place will actually start looking like a real home.
