Zzzzzzzzzzz......

Why has my blog become so boring recently? I need to think of things to spruce it up. Definitely a new profile picture - I'll have to work on that.

The most exciting thing that's happened recently is that I got my first job offer since I started seriously looking for a new job about 2 - 3 weeks ago. I turned them down - how's that for power? They weren't offering any more than I am currently making and it just didn't seem like a smart thing to do to just go from one place to another and not move up any. So I'm still looking, but I am encouraged by this success. I'm also amazed at how something as small as a job offer can really put things into perspective. It was so easy for me to say I hate my current job, but asl I really started looking at what's out there and going on interviews, I realize that where I'm at isn't as bad as I thought it was. I mean, I'm certainly still planning on leaving soon, but I'm not quite as desperate as I was a couple of weeks ago. I realize I can afford to be very picky, so I might as well hold out for the perfect job while I've still got a job to pay the bills.

Words of Wisdom

Some of the wisest words I have ever heard - one of those phrases you know you will never forget - although I have to ask him if he's quoting from someone, or if he actually thought this up himself...

"Live in the moment,
Plan for the future,
Forget about the past."

The process...

So you would think I would know by now, that once you get your parents involved, things start happening. Of course, I've been complaining about how much I hate my job for the last 4 years, but like "Rosa" said, once you get mom involved, it's real.

So I went on my first interview (of this round of "I hate my job") today - and it went pretty well. I have to leave for another one in about 20 minutes, and then I have the rest of the day to drive myself insane thinking about all the stupid things I said, and what I did wrong. But that's okay. That's the process. Freak out before, then do great on the real thing, beat myself up about everything I did wrong, then get outside assurance that everything's going to turn out okay.
