On the Road Again

So I volunteered (what was I thinking?) along with one of my other co-workers to go to KC next week to represent my team as they're doing beta testing of the new commission system rolling out in a few weeks...and I'm torn. I haven't heard back yet on the potential job, and now will have the opportunity to meet my potential hiring manager face to face...can I do it??? On the other hand, it's been over 3 weeks - should I just take that as a sign and let it go and not embarrass myself?

To make matters worse, my current manager announced Monday that she's stepping down. Every time I switch managers, my good standing in the company gets a little shakier as new people coming in don't know my history and what I've done in the past two years, and it makes me really nervous...

One of my co-workers told me I should apply for the job. HA...schaaa right. As IF. I am NOT manager material. No way, never, ever.

In case anyone wants more mundane details, I have been sick since Saturday morning - that's right - took 2 days off from work in a row (I can't remember ever doing that before) and today was the first day back - what a nightmare. And I spoke to my sister for almost 2 hours yesterday and she and the new baby are doing great. I forgot to ask her how they were spelling his name - oops - but made tentative plans to go to the National Aquarium in Baltimore with her family when baby is old enough for a day trip. Should be good quality time with the nieces and nephews!

Call me pathetic, but I went to a movie by MYSELF for the very first time tonight. PotC3 which I've been dying to see - I must admit I did not see the ending coming, and haven't decided it I like it or not yet. I think I need to watch it 5 or 6 more times before I really understand the whole thing ;-) The cameo by Keith Richards was priceless.
