Family Portrait

Yes, I'm sorry for subjecting all of you to the hideousness of me without makeup on, but it's our first family portrait, and I think it actually turned out kinda cute.

Network Issues

This blog post brought to you by the people in charge of the network at Sprint Nextel.

The network's been down for over an hour. What to do? You can only play computer games so long before you even get bored with that. You even tell your boss to make sure he knows why you're being unproductive. Then what are you left with? In my case, not much. Half the company's off this week anyhow (which is probably why the network people are screwing around with it).

Funny how I've noticed that my life now revolves around my cat, my job, and my excitement about my upcoming vacation. Pathetic? I'm really trying to convince myself that it's not. I guess it all just depends on your point of view...

Post Christmas

So I hope everyone had a fabulous Christmas!

Amazingly, my entire immediate family was able to get together on the same day; Deb down from Winchester and James up from Fredericksburg, and we all spent Christmas Eve together, which was really nice. By the time we got to opening presents, it became utter chaos.

I got royally teased for being the only die-hard fan who watched the 'Skins game while the rest were in the dining room eating dinner. But it paid off as we beat the Giants 35 - 20. One step closer to the playoffs!!!

I went back Christmas morning to have Christmas with mom and dad and Joe - it was then we realized that Joshua had missed one of his presents - d'oh! So there's still one present under the tree. Then it was up to play Joe's new video games until dinner time - I must say I am a huge fan now of Crash Tag-Team Racing - totally blows Mario Kart out of the water.

Monday, it was pure bliss to sleep until 9am, until I could no longer ignore the furry wet nose in my face and a very loud purr in my ear. But I must say I was extremely proud of myself for being SO productive - got at least 8 loads of laundry done, all the dishes, cleaned the living room a little which had been craft central for the last 3 weeks, and got all my new presents put away / organized / etc. Didn't realize until this morning that my cell phone died sometime over the weekend - sorry Meegs!!!

Now it's back to work, although it is a bit odd to see the parking lot almost completely empty. I really love this week for the commute though - got from Centreville to McLean in 25 minutes!!!

Thrown for a Loop (but in a good way)

So, seeing as Froggy and I have now paid for our cruise in full, I was wandering about the website trying to get excited about it again (and trying to forget the amount of money I just put on my credit card), and what do I find out? They have taken out our stop in CocoCay, Bahamas. No more tallest inflatable water slide. But what do we get instead?

San Juan, Puerto Rico!!!!!

As Froggy says, "We have 7 hours in Puerto Rico - what's a girl to do?" So if anyone out there has been to Puerto Rico and has ideas of the best places to go within a 7 hour time frame, let me know!!!

Waxing Poetic

Something tells me not much work is getting done today. Lots of laughter, Christmas lights strung across the cubicles, and the smell of Red Hot and Blue throughout since they catered our holiday lunch today... AND I even got the cutest big gift 'basket' from one of my favorite contacts as a thank-you for all the extra effort I put in for their account!!! It's a metal sleigh filled with everything Ghiradelli: chocolate mint coffee, a big tin of chocolates, double chocolate hot chocolate mix and more!!! Yummm!!!

Not much else to report, other than looking forward to my parents' house being complete chaos on Saturday, as both my sister and her family and my brother and his new family are coming up on Christmas Eve, which will make: 7 adults, 5 children (ranging in age from 2 - 9), 2 cats, maybe one dog... I love watching my nieces and nephew as they open their presents - that innocent joy is something that cannot be feigned when they're that young, and it always helps to remind me what this season is really about; giving rather than receiving, spending time with family and loved ones - rejoicing that I'm lucky enough to have such a wonderful and stable family and have the opportunity to see them often.

If I don't talk to some of you beforehand, have a WONDERFUL Christmas!!!!!

Oh Yeah!!!

Yeah, it may sound a bit egocentric, but I have determined that I am good luck for the Redskins when I actually go to their games. Not only did we win yesterday, but we won against the Cowboys, and not only beat them, but SLAUGHTERED them. Well, at least until they got their puny one touchdown. Still, 35 - 7 is a pretty good beating. It was really cold, though. Froggy and her beau actually went down and got a blanket we were so cold up in our seats. Of course, it didn't hurt that they brought back some Smirnoff Ice too ;-)

Only 6 days until Christmas!!!

Warning

I just want everyone to know that I'm incredibly whiny today. Don't know why. The word of the day is limbo, which is probably causing some of the whininess. Can't wait to go home and snuggle up with Nemo and a good Orlando movie.
